ABOUT SECURITY COUNCIL

One of the main forums in the UN, the 15 member Security Council is where issues of security and peace are debated. It is the only UN body capable of drafting legally binding resolutions, using definite language, authorising military and peacekeeping intervention and establishing sanctions.
