The UN site has a number of previous resolutions and briefings regarding a variety of issues, they will also have a lot of statistics on anything that you are looking for in their multiple subsidiaries.

CIA WORLD FACTBOOK

The CIA World Factbook has a large range of statistics on every country

RESEARCH REPORTS

Each research report has a lot of information on your council’s issues and it is well worth your time to read them.

INDIVIDUAL BRIEFINGS

The best information that you will find will be in specific studies or briefings related to your issue, you should be able to find a lot of these in either the works cited list of the research reports or by searching up your issue.

EMBASSY OR CONSULATE

CONTACT YOUR COUNTRY'S EMBASSY OR CONSULATE

Try contacting your country's embassy or consulate - they can provide a large amount of information on statistics and positions on issues. Just be sure to leave a fair bit of time for them to get back to you.
