Below you will find a list of some trustworthy and notable sources which will aid you in debate & preparing resolutions. We would like to encourage all delegates to aim to gather information from at least one of the following sources in order to ensure maximum credibility and minimal bias. Please note that ChatGPT and other similar AI chatbots are not credible sources, and should be used minimally when drafting resolutions, speeches, and arguments; this is to ensure the quality of debates and maximised enjoyment for all.

Delegates found consistently using AI tools to draft speeches, conduct research, or write resolutions may be sanctioned and face interventions from conference administrators.

  • NMUN New York has a large collection of preparation sites. Please note that the rules and procedures are for the American NMUN conference and are not to be followed in this conference.

  • The UN site has a number of previous resolutions and briefings regarding a variety of issues, they will also have a lot of statistics on anything that you are looking for in their multiple subsidiaries.

  • The CIA World Factbook has a large range of statistics on every country

  • Research Reports can be found under the “Conference” tab on this website. They contain the most valuable and summarised information related to debates and are relesaed in the weeks leading up to HLISMUN. They contain a plethora of trusted, cited sources.
